 Loanhead Guitar Club News
On this page we hope to highlight events, gigs etc, that might be of interest. Also we will  report on things that have happened, that are relevant to the Guitar Club, and probably a lot of nonsense that is of no relevance to anyone. Remember if there is anything you think should be on this page, or on any other part of the site, send it in.

Update on Pat Dickson's funeral.
This will take place at Mortonhall Main chapel on Friday 18/02/22 at 14:00 hours.
And this from Ally:-
"If you can come then it will be lovely to see you again. Dress is as you like, we’re not bothered. Our kids and me will be wearing a wee splash of red somewhere as that was Pat's favourite colour. If you want to join in then please do."

"Ally Dickson has let me know that his wife Pat died on 29th January. The funeral will be at Mortonhall Crematorium. Date and time are not yet available, but will be intimated when available. We send Ally and family our deepest sympathies."

Email from Porter McClister
3porter3@gmail.com

Greetings from across the pond. My name is Porter McClister, and I’m a professional guitar player from Nashville,TN. I’m going to play a show at The Leith Depot in Edinburgh on June 26. I’m well-known in Nashville, but not internationally. The folks that appreciate my shows most are fellow guitar players. I would love for members of your group to come out to my show. Could you get the word out to fellow guitar folks? I’d love to have an informal guitar clinic an hour before the show starts if you guys have interest. Just let me know! Im happy to email you a flyer and/or some videos or any info you want. Thanks so much for your time!

You can find him on Youtube and contact him by email.

Concert for Jon

A fund raiser was held at the Glencourse Centre in March 2018 in memory of our dear and much missed friend Jon Harman. Money raised was donated to the British Lung Foundation and The Cheyne Gang Choir.
Judy put together what proved to be a fantastic concert.
A huge thanks to, Kathy Stewart and her Frequent Flyers, featuring the Cheyne Gang, Eddie Allen, Gallus Crows, Dave Currie & Craig McKinney and the Dougie Downie Trio featuring Bruce & Gill Hogg. Not only did all these wonderful musicians play for free they also paid to get in as well !

A page on Guitar Care has been added under the Tuition page. Currently it deals with string changing. More will be added in due course.
